Politics

Isn't politics wonderful?

Yes, it's a great benefit of democracy that we can elect politicians to represent their constituencies, for them to turn out to be a major disappointment. Perhaps the people to elect are those that don't want to be elected....

I only mention this as we are obviously being subjected to the election campaign of the Tony Blair Party....oops sorry, the Labour Party. Personally I don't think he should be reelected again. Mind you I thought he shouldn't have been elected in the first place, but hey, I voted Conservative.

Important Note: Political speeches have to be listened to carefully. Frequently the use of cynicism is recommended. Reading between the lines is also good. See if there is any detail to the speeches. If not - steer clear.

At this point I could go on a major rant about the US Government, but I won't because it should be obvious by now what they stand for and what they want to do. A majority apparently voted for him....alleged rigging etc notwithstanding. I suppose the fact that he can't do another term is a relief for some.

What this links to is the proposed legislation for internment on the sayso of politicians. Why? Who would you trust, a politician or a judge? Says it all really. Use the evidence is all I say.

That is it....end of rant.

Weather

ok....so I haven't seen any snow here. So why is everyone talking about mini ice ages? I hardly count 1-2 feet of snow to be particularly deep. Lets face it, Scotland and Wales get deeper than that on a regular basis. Meanwhile.....

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that we seem to be having a fair few natural disasters this year? Avalanches in Kashmir, flooding in California, earthquakes in Iran. No doubt there are a few that I have forgotten....if I'm wrong...sorry!

Then of course there is the global warming....anyone else hot? Personally I think it is quite cool thanks. 1-5 centigrade isn't cold compared to Canada and Siberia I know, but Key West is in the high 20's centigrade. Not fair. For all of you in Key West having a drink...get a decent beer!! Do not, do not, do not drink Bud. Get something decent down you...like Guinness (I sense a beer post sometime in the future).

Further to the weather, here we are Monday morning....and they are talking about 'treacherous conditions' and 'bitterly cold temperatures'. Pardon? I am wearing short sleeves, and my jacket unzipped. If it was that cold, I would have a woolly hat and gloves on...as well as my jacket zipped all the way to the top.

I think the forecasters are getting a little carried away with their predictions....perhaps a reality check is in hand. Oh, I know, it is probably because it is cold in London....that's what the problem is.

Why am I here?

Why am I here indeed....well actually it is a bit of an accident really. I was doing a sort of online diary thing on Friends Reunited and then it disappeared....which wasn't helpful. So I thought I'd do something different here. Yes, I know, I need help, but then again, who doesn't??

So this will be sort of a list of things I like (movies, music, books) and other stuff worth commenting on (politics?!?!, conspiracy theories, interesting items etc).

I will eventually have a proper commenting thing going so you can smack me down if you want.

Ok...later!!!
