5th November
Today is the 5th of November...better known as Bonfire Night, when an effigy of Guy Fawkes is burned atop a bonfire. In some towns, an effigy of the Pope is used, as the conspirators of the plot were Catholic.
On the 5th of November 1605, Guy Fawkes was captured in an attempt to blow up the houses of Parliament. His sentence was to be hung, drawn, and quartered.

So... was he a terrorist, or a man of vision? If John Prescott had been sitting in Parliament at the time Gorse Fox (spooky how he has the same initials as Guy Fawkes) would gauge him to be a saviour of the nation.
MuppetLord apparently you have fallen victim to the PC brigade. It was meant to be called Guy Fawkes Night, but some clever Whitehall bloke thought this would offend a few terrorists and renamed it Bonfire Night...
oh.....really? I'm slightly out of touch....I never knew.
